Contact us
BUBU is built and supported by one person, Amthuz Zafrin. Email amthuzzafrin@gmail.com and we aim to reply within 3 working days.
Include the email you signed up with, your phone or tablet model, and what happened. Never send your password. We will never ask for it.
1. Getting started
- It needs an internet connection to reply.
- When you first open it, BUBU explains why it would like your microphone and camera, and then asks. The microphone is how you talk to it. The camera is optional and lets BUBU read your expression.
- BUBU is voice-first: you speak, and it answers out loud in a few sentences, in the language you use.
You do not type to BUBU. You talk to it like a person, and it talks back. There is no chat window, just BUBU's face.
2. Your account and sign-in
I forgot my password
- On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?
- Enter the email address you signed up with.
- Open the email we send you and follow the link to choose a new password.
No email after a few minutes? Check your spam or promotions folder.
I did not get the verification email
New accounts must confirm their email before BUBU opens. The verification screen lets you send the email again. If it still does not arrive, check spam, then contact us from the same address.
Someone else may be using my account
Change your password straight away with Forgot password?, then contact us.
3. Changing your name or country
BUBU has no settings menu. You just ask it out loud:
- Name: say "call me …", and BUBU uses that name from then on.
- Country: say "change my country". This decides which helplines it shows you, so keep it set to where you actually are.
4. Camera and microphone
BUBU cannot hear me
- Open your phone's Settings.
- Tap Apps, then BUBU.
- Tap Permissions, then Microphone, and choose Allow (or "Allow only while using the app").
- Close BUBU completely and open it again.
Your speech is turned into text by your phone's own speech service, so that service needs to be available. If voice typing works on your keyboard, it will work for BUBU.
BUBU cannot see me, or I want the camera off
Follow the same steps, but choose Camera. You can allow it or deny it. BUBU works without the camera; it just cannot read your expression. The video never leaves your phone (see the Privacy Policy).
The microphone and camera switch off whenever you leave the app, and only come back when you tap.
5. Talking to BUBU
BUBU stopped answering for the day
Plans include 100 messages a day, and the count starts again the next day. Help in a crisis is never counted and never blocked.
BUBU said "busy" or took a long time
That usually means the service was briefly busy, and BUBU will try your message again on its own. If it keeps happening, check your connection, then contact us.
BUBU misunderstood me
BUBU is an AI and can get things wrong. Say it again in different words, or tell it what it got wrong. If a reply was harmful, please report it (section 9).
6. Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play. We never see your card, UPI or bank details.
To cancel
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
- Choose BUBU, then Cancel subscription.
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Change your payment method: in the same place in Google Play.
- New phone, or reinstalled the app: on the subscription screen, tap I have already subscribed while signed in to the same Google account you paid with.
- Refunds: see our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which has real examples.
Uninstalling BUBU, or deleting your account, does not cancel a subscription.
7. Your data and privacy requests
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or name someone to act for you. Email us from the address on your account. The Privacy Policy has an example message for each request, and explains how to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Deleting your account
- Open BUBU and say "delete my account".
- Read the confirmation screen, which explains what will be removed.
- Confirm. Your account, what BUBU remembers, your mood history and your conversations are deleted immediately and permanently.
If you can no longer open the app, email us from the address on your account and we will delete it for you. Cancel any subscription in Google Play first.
9. Reporting a harmful or wrong reply
If BUBU said something harmful, offensive, dangerous or seriously wrong, please tell us. Email us with:
- the date and rough time it happened;
- what you said, and what BUBU replied, as closely as you remember.
We read every report and use it to make BUBU safer.
10. Bugs and feedback
Something broken, or an idea for BUBU? Email us with your device model, what you did, and what happened. A screenshot or screen recording helps a lot.
11. Reporting a security issue
If you have found a security weakness in BUBU, email us with the details and please give us a reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else. Do not access other people's data, disrupt the service, or run automated attacks while testing. We will reply, keep you updated, and thank you publicly if you would like.
