Refund & Cancellation Policy
The short version
- Subscriptions are bought, billed and refunded through Google Play.
- They renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel any time in Google Play. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Within 48 hours of a charge, you can ask Google Play for a refund yourself. After that, contact us.
- Crisis help is always free, with or without a subscription.
1. Who takes your payment
BUBU subscriptions are sold through Google Play. Google takes the payment, under Google Play's terms, using the method saved in your Google account (card, UPI, Play balance and so on). We never see or store your payment details. We only receive confirmation that your subscription is active.
You pay Google, the same way you pay for any app in the Play Store. BUBU never sees your card or UPI details.
2. Automatic renewal
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annually, and Google Play charges you for the next one until you cancel. Where Indian rules require it, you approve the recurring payment when you first subscribe, and you are notified before a renewal charge.
A billing period is the time one payment covers: a month or a year. When it ends, Google charges you for the next one automatically. The first time, your bank or UPI app may ask you to approve these repeat payments (an OTP or your UPI PIN). After that, you get a notice before each charge.
3. How to cancel
- Open the Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
- Choose BUBU and tap Cancel subscription.
After cancelling, you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. You can re-subscribe at any time.
Uninstalling BUBU, or deleting your BUBU account, does not cancel your subscription. Only cancelling in Google Play stops the charges.
You are on the monthly plan, renewing on the 5th. You cancel on 20 October. You can keep using BUBU until 5 November, and on 5 November nothing is charged.
4. Refunds
Within 48 hours of being charged
You can request a refund directly from Google Play, which decides it under Google Play's refund policy. Go to play.google.com › Order history, find the BUBU charge and choose Request a refund.
After 48 hours
Contact us (section 11). We look at each request fairly, and we will refund through Google Play when:
- you were charged after you had already cancelled;
- you were charged twice for the same period;
- a fault on our side stopped BUBU working for you for a significant part of the period; or
- the law requires us to.
Otherwise, payments for a billing period that has already started are generally not refunded, and cancelling part-way through does not refund the rest of that period.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Google Play. How long they take to appear depends on Google and your bank, usually a few days. A refunded subscription usually ends straight away.
In the first two days after a charge, ask Google for a refund yourself; it is quickest. After that, write to us. We will refund you if the mistake was ours or the charge should not have happened. The money goes back to however you paid.
5. Refunds: real examples
| What happened | What to do | Will you get money back? |
|---|---|---|
| You subscribed yesterday by mistake. | Within 48 hours: request a refund in Google Play's Order history. | Google decides, usually yes for a quick request. |
| You cancelled on 20 October but were still charged on 5 November. | Email us with your order number. | Yes. That charge should not have happened. |
| You were charged twice for the same month. | Email us with both order numbers. | Yes, for the extra charge. |
| BUBU did not work for you for most of the month because of a problem on our side. | Email us and describe what happened. | Yes, fairly, for the time it did not work. |
| You changed your mind halfway through the month. | Cancel in Google Play to stop the next charge. | Usually no. You keep BUBU until the month ends. |
6. What to include when you write to us
- The email address on your BUBU account.
- Your Google Play order number. It starts with "GPA.". Find it in the Play Store: tap your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Budget & history, then tap the BUBU charge. It is also in the receipt email Google sent you.
- The date and amount of the charge.
- What went wrong, in a sentence or two.
Never send your card number, UPI PIN or password. We will never ask for them.
7. Free trials
BUBU does not currently offer a free trial. If we introduce one, the app will show exactly when it ends and when charging begins before you agree.
8. Price changes
If we change the price, Google Play tells you in advance as its rules require, and the new price applies only from your next renewal. If you do not want to continue, cancel before then.
A price change never surprises you. You are told first, and you can cancel before it applies.
9. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, for example because a card has expired, Google Play asks you to update your payment method and retries for a limited time (the grace period). You keep access during that time. If the payment still fails, paid access pauses until it is fixed, or ends.
If your card expires, BUBU does not stop straight away. Google gives you some time to update your payment in the Play Store, and BUBU keeps working meanwhile.
10. Your consumer rights
Nothing in this policy affects rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that cannot be waived.
This page can never take away your legal rights as a consumer in India.
